A booklet on planning surveys for research. The guide covers planning, when a survey is appropriate to use, setting up a survey, designing questionnaires, sampling principles, quality assurance and survey data analysis.
"This booklet provides guidelines about surveys which may be contemplated as part of the programme of project work. It is intended to provide guidance for those involved in natural resources research or bilateral projects, and to help those who review project activities. They should be able to recognise where a survey may be needed to realise stated objectives of the project and to check that a survey is realistically formulated"
Part of a series of statistical guides by The University of Reading Statistical Services Centre, which were originally written as part of a contract with DFID to give guidance to research and support staff working on DFID Natural Resources projects. They provide guidelines for staff involved in the development and presentation of research projects. The guidelines are intended to help researchers to identify their biometric or statistical needs.
